UPDATE: All Urgent Behavioral Health Care staff have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Coronavirus / COVID-19 Safety

Here are some of the ways we’re protecting the health of our patients and our staff during this time:

  • Telepsychiatric Care: We now offer remote telepsychiatry appointments to most patients. This allows patients to take their appointments remotely. Patients must have a smartphone or laptop with an internet connection and a valid email address. UBHC will email a downloadable app link where patients can securely connect online with their care provider at their scheduled appointment time. (Phone calls are not allowed for Telepsychiatry visits.) Telepsychiatry appointments include new evaluations, medication management, emergency visits, and counseling. For any appointment, patients have the choice of meeting in person or remotely during regular business hours on weekdays and Saturdays.
  • The clinic will remain open for patients that must be seen in person or who are unable to access the internet.
  • All patients and staff must wear masks inside the clinic and undergo a temperature check upon entering the building.
  • Please do not bring more than one person with you to your appointment.
  • Our staff cleans and sanitizes the waiting room and each treatment room multiple times throughout the day.
  • We are providing every patient with plenty of space to stay socially distant from others while in our office. Patients arriving for appointments may be required to stay in their vehicles until space becomes available.
  • Please call us at 210-591-1615 if you have questions or need help with getting ready for a telepsychiatry appointment.

Stay safe and stop the spread! Remember:

  • Please do not come to the clinic if you are sick with fever or cough, if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the past two weeks.  Please call and we will make necessary arrangements for your care.
  • Stay at home as much as possible and minimize unnecessary contact with other people.
  • Wash hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.
  • Practice social distancing, keeping at least six feet away from others and stop shaking hands.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Sanitize items that are frequently touched such as doorknobs, light switches and telephones.

Most of our patients will be able to avoid physically traveling to the clinic and still receive the same medical visit from their provider. This will reduce the risk of exposure to the Coronavirus for you and our staff.

UBHC providers will be available to see patients by telehealth during our usual business hours on Weekdays and Saturdays.

Our staff are calling scheduled patients to discuss which apps you can download to your device and assist you with any problems. We recommend using Facetime (for Apple devices) or Google Duo which you can download for free. We will make future appointments for telehealth visits as long as the COVID-19 nationwide public health emergency exists.

The clinic will remain open with one provider for patients that must be seen in person for injections or inability to use the communication apps.

Please do not come to the clinic if you are sick with fever or cough or have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Please call and we will make necessary
arrangements for your care.

Please call the clinic 210-591-1615 if you have questions about this change or need help with instructions on downloading the application.
