Our providers
A little about us.
Urgent Care Behavioral Health started in 2013 with a mission of helping people with chronic mental illness receive the care they need when they need it, without lengthy wait times for appointments. Our multidisciplinary staff includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, licensed clinical social workers and licensed professional counselors working together to provide comprehensive care for our patients.
PSYCHIATRISTS
Psychiatrists are medical doctors that specialize in mental health. They assess, diagnose and treat mental health disorders and manage medication for patients. Psychiatrists attend four years of medical school, then complete four years of psychiatric residency. Geriatric Psychiatrists complete an additional fellowship learning to care for elderly patients. Consult Liaison Psychiatrists complete additional fellowship learning to care for patients with co-morbid medical conditions. All psychiatrists at UBHC go above and beyond these requirements by completing additional training to become Board Certified. This means they meet nationally recognized standards for education, knowledge, experience and skills to provide high quality care in psychiatry. They maintain their certification through periodic examinations by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
